Summary

The TorchStone Executive Protection Report tracked 19 domestic and two international security incidents or updates to prior incidents impacting high-profile individuals during the month of June 2026. Below are some key incidents of note over the past month.

  • Social media platform moderation rollbacks are correlating with a measurable rise in threats against public officials. A June 9 report from the Center for Countering Digital Hate found that abusive comments on Facebook targeting members of Congress have tripled and violent threats have quadrupled since Meta scaled back automated content moderation in January 2025. The pattern suggests that reduced platform-level moderation is lowering the barrier for threatening rhetoric to circulate and could escalate toward action.
  • Public social media activity continues to enable physical targeting of high-profile individuals. Several incidents this period trace directly to information subjects made publicly available online. Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa’s home was burglarized while they were on a publicized vacation, having previously posted extensively about the residence itself online. Singer Chris Brown’s Tarzana property, which is visible on Google Maps and the site of multiple prior trespassing attempts, was targeted again in June. These cases reinforce a consistent theme: online visibility continues to enable targeted crime against prominent figures.
